Collect for today

Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ fasted forty days in the wilderness, and was tempted as we are, yet without sin: give us grace to discipline ourselves in obedience to your Spirit; and, as you know our weakness, so may we know your power to save; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Post Communion Prayer for today

Lord God, you have renewed us with the living bread from heaven; by it you nourish our faith, increase our hope, and strengthen our love: teach us always to hunger for him who is the true and living bread, and enable us to live by every word that proceeds from out of your mouth;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

News and Notices

  • St Michael and All Angels Church is currently closed due to plaster falling from the ceiling. To ensure the safety of all there will be no services for the next few weeks. I hope to reopen the church as soon as possible but will need to consult the architect. This means that Lent Compline has now moved to Holy Trinity Blendworth.
  • ‘Rakers and Scrapers’ will be tending to the churchyard at Blendworth on Saturday 21 March from 10am please do come along to help.
  • You may have heard of JustOne, a movement of church unity, focussed prayer, intentional evangelism and clear proclamation. On Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April, Canon J. John will be speaking at Portsmouth Guildhall, offering a unique opportunity to bring a ‘plus one’ to hear the life-changing message of Jesus.  The event is a partnership between a number of churches and ministries in Portsmouth, the surrounding areas, and Canon J. John.   The event begins at 7pm and tickets are available from the Guildhall Box Office at a cost of £5.00. For further information please visit
