Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord,
to your faithful people pardon and peace,
that they may be cleansed from all their sins
and serve you with a quiet mind;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen
Father of light,
in whom there is no change or shadow of turning,
you give us every good and perfect gift
and have brought us to birth by your word of truth:
may we be a living sign of that kingdom
where your whole creation will be made perfect
in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Readings for Today at Blendworth and Chalton
Isaiah 53: 4-end: God’s suffering servant will be treated unjustly but will delight in the many who are made righteous through him.
Hebrews 5: 1-10: Jesus is appointed by God to be our high priest through his obedient suffering, which also brings salvation to others..
Mark 10: 35-45: Status in God’s kingdom is found only through sacrificial love and service and is freely given by God – it cannot be earned
An Interregnum Prayer
God our Father – You have welcomed each one of us in Christ Jesus and called us to be his body in this place; send us your Holy Spirit, at this time of uncertainty and change, to fill us with vision, energy, and faithfulness in prayer, that we may be true to our calling to bring new life to our community. Guide those on whom will fall an extra burden of responsibility during this time of vacancy. And give wisdom to those who are to choose new incumbents for this united benefice, and the adjoining parishes, in the proposed pastoral reorganisation. That the ones whom we receive may be wise and gentle shepherds of your people: ready to serve us with joy, to build us up in faith, and to lead us by example in loving obedience to your son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A HUGE THANK YOU to everybody who made my last Sunday in the Benefice so special. For all the cards, letters gifts and greetings and for being there at the services. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers and I will watch future developments with interest.
God Bless you – with love Rosemary

At this meeting we are able to help them to understand the practicalities of a church wedding ceremony in our parishes, as well as who will be able to help them to plan their service including those who can advise on music. If you know of anyone who would be interested in coming along to this meeting, please give them directions to Blendworth and the date and time of the meeting and they will be very welcome.
